Dear Parents/ Carers,
It has been another exceptional two weeks at Clawton with children continuing to thrive and flourish within all areas of school life.
I have been excited by the enquiry-based learning happening in classes. Children are asking big questions and taking ownership of their own learning working together to continually develop skills and knowledge. The work in books and around the schools demonstrates a high level of pride and passion, it is truly inspiring to see.
I have enjoyed teaching Mrs Paget's class at times these last two weeks whilst she has been undertaking baseline observations. It has been wonderful to get to know our new reception children some more and see how they have settled so well into the routine of school. It is like they have been with us for years, they are so inquisitive and resilient.
Recently we have noticed a lot of children re-enacting games that are accessible on electronic devices. We have spoken with children about the appropriateness of this and ask that parents support by keeping an eye on what pupils are accessing at home including the age range of certain games. If you have any concerns or would like support on how to keep your child safe online, please do approach any of us on-site we are happy to help.
Today we have interviewed for an interim administrator to cover Mrs Skinner’s current absence - I will keep you updated on an appointment and start date in due course.
There are many bugs around at the moment, my hope is that you all remain well and our attendance continues to be high but I also ask that if your child has a sickness bug they cannot return until 48 hours after their last bout of sickness.
Finally, I look forward to seeing you all next Thursday for our Harvest Service.
Wishing you a restful weekend,
Kind regards,
Mrs. Sharpe.
